  • June 16, 2004- Recently displaced people from villages around the town of Nyala, Darfur set up a makeshift camp,with the few personal belongings they were able to carry, on a barren plain on the outskirts of Nyala after fleeing their villages when they were attacked by the Janjaweed. They currently have no adequate shelter and many are sleeping in the open. Over 300 children suffering from severe malnutrition have arrived at the camp over the past weeks.
